Edamame is naturally gluten free and a low calorie snack, contains no cholesterol and is an excellent source of protein, iron and calcium. Edamame may be boiled in water, steamed or microwaved. It can be enjoyed with rock salt, either dissolved in the boiling water before introducing the soybean pods or added after cooking.
